There was a season when my voice didn't carry strength, it carried pain. I was showing up, smiling, serving, and doing all the things, but inside I was quiet...not because I didn't have words, but because life had tried to silence me.
It was in that quiet place that God met me, not with noise, but with His whisper. He began to peel back the layers I had built to survive and started healing the women behind them. What I thought was silence was really preparation. God wasn't ignoring me; He was restoring me.
That's where Shay's Voice was born, in the stillness between surrender and strength. t became the sound of a healed woman choosing to speak again, not her wounds, but from her worship.
There came a day when I couldn't keep pretending I was fine. I had learned how to smile through the storm and worship through the weight, but inside, my heart was tired. That's when God whispered. "Daughter, I'm not done with you, I'm about to use the very thing that tried to silence you."
In that moment, everything shifter. He began t show me that my pain was never meant to break me, it was meant to birth purpose. The tears I cried became oil. The silence became strength. And little by little, He restored my confidence, my identity, and my sound.
That's when I realized my voice wasn't lost, it was just waiting for permission to rise again. And this time, I wasn't speaking from survival.....I was speaking from surrender.
My name is Shaquida Carr, and I am woman who has seen the power of God's redemption up close. There was a time when I thought my story was over, when the weight of shame, disappointment, and unanswered prayers felt louder than God's promises. But even then there, in silence, His voice found me.
He didn't call me by my mistakes; He called me by my name. He Whispered. "Daughter, I've been waiting for you to realize your voice still carries Heaven's authority." And in that moment, I felt chains breaking that I didn't even know I still carried.
God began to rewrite my story, not by erasing my past, but by redeeming it. He took the woman who once hid her pain behind smiles and used her tears as oil to anoint the next season. Every wound became a weapon, and every scar became proof that grace still works.
In my book, Her Voice Mut be Heard, I share the deeper journey of how God turned my silence into strength. One line still echoes in my spirit today:
"There came a day when I realized I wasn't fighting for my voice anymore, I was fighting with it. The same voice that once trembled in pain now speaks with power because it belongs to the One who healed it."
That's what redemption looks like, not perfection, but power through surrender. God didn't just restore my sound; He restored my purpose. The very thing the enemy tried to silence became the sound that now announces freedom.
I am Shaquida Carr, a wife, a mother, a leader, a servant, an author, and a woman redeemed by grace. I stand as living proof that God doesn't just restore what was lost; He multiplies it. My life is a reflection of His faithfulness, a reminder that when God heals your voice, He gives it purpose in every role you carry.
Shay's Voice is my yes to God, my declaration that silence no longer owns me. And as long as I have breath, I will keep using my voice to tell the world that He is real, He still heals, and He still speaks, He still redeems. He is Jehovah Gibbor (The Lord Mighty in Battle) Jehovah Uzi (The Lord My Strength) Jehovah Rapha (The Lord Who Heals) and Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner)
If your reading this, it's not by accident. heaven scheduled this moment to remind you that god still sees you, and He still has something to say through you. Maybe you've been silent for a while. Maybe life's weight has caused you to question if your prayers still reach Him. I've been there, but I'm here as living proof that He answers, He restores, and He redeems.
God wants you to know that the same voice He restored in me, He's awakening in you. He still heals the brokenhearted. He still breathes life into dry places. He still calls His daughters by name. Don't let shame, far, or disappointment convince you that your story is over. It's not over, it's just beginning. Your voice still carries the sound of Heaven, and when you open your mouth again, chains will break, hearts will heal. amd atmosphere will shift.
This is you're reminder:
You are not forgotten.
You are not disqualified.
You are chosen, redeemed, and appointed for such a time as this.
With love and faith
